After 100 years and four generations of presidents, Covington Roofing and Sheet Metal has enjoyed a long history as an established family business in Conway and throughout the State of Arkansas.
George A. Covington founded Covington Roofing & Sheet Metal in 1923. He started the business with one truck, a wood-fired asphalt kettle and three employees. The sheet metal shop produced tin pails.
George W. Covington became partners with his father in 1946, purchasing the Company in 1954. It continued to grow under his leadership, gaining the outstanding reputation that it enjoys today. In 1936, he and his father roofed the State Capital Building in Little Rock, Arkansas.
George E. Covington, Sr., joined his father in 1970 and became president of the family business in 1978. He was elected to the Board of Directors of MRCA in 1985. The business is now one of the largest roofing contractors in the state.
George E. Covington, Jr. after graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Hendrix College in 1993, joined the family business full time. He was elected to The Board of Directors of MRCA in 2001.
